This weekend is full of delightful beverages in Monterey County! The party gets started on Friday with the Monterey Wine Festival at the Custom House Plaza near Old Fisherman’s Wharf. Guests will enjoy a night full of savory wine and fine dining in an event dubbed “A Night to Celebrate Reds.” Saturday’s events include “Bartenders Fedora Cocktail Throw Down“and the ever-popular “West Coast Chowder Competition.” The Monterey Beer Festival and Carmel Valley’s Art and Wine Celebration also take place on Saturday (details listed under Saturday events). Don’t miss a performance of God of Carnage this weekend at the Circle Theatre. The Broadway piece by Yasmina Reza will have the crowd laughing in hysterics. Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm, Monte Verde Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $10-$35.
This weekend is the perfect time to bring the kiddos to the Monterey Bay Aquarium! The aquarium will be celebrating World Oceans Day which means tons of great activities for the entire family. Curious tots will learn all about the treasures of the sea with crafts, live music, sustainable cooking demonstrations, special animal feeding shows and more! Garland Ranch celebrates its 13th annual Wildflower Show this weekend. The Garland Ranch Visitors Center and Museum will showcase the natural beauties that blanket Garland Ranch in late spring and early summer. Mix a little wine with some down-home folk music tonight at Pierce Ranch Vineyards. This wine tasting room near Cannery Row will be full of vibrant jams from Sean Schiveley. 8:30pm, 499 Wave Street, Monterey. Free event.

Adorable Carmel Valley Village hosts all things wine and art today during the 8th annual Carmel Valley Art and Wine Celebration. Over ten wineries and one brewery will be pouring their finest selections while nine bands entertain throughout the day. Can’t find a babysitter? Don’t worry there are several activities for the little ones as well including pony rides, bounce houses, crafts and more! 11am-5pm, Carmel Valley Village, CA. Free admission. Wine tasting tickets are $20 in advance.
Wine not your thing? Then head the Monterey County Fairgrounds for the 9th annual Beer Festival. Over 80, yes 80, breweries are on deck throughout the day just for you! Sample a variety of ales, lagers and ciders from around the globe while listening to some sweet classic rock jams from three different cover bands. 12:30pm-5pm. 2004 Fairgrounds Road, Monterey. $40
The Sunset Center in Carmel-by-the-Sea hosts The Mystical Arts of Tibet. This group, endorsed by the Dalai Lama, plays all sorts of Tibetan instruments while robed in extraordinary costumes. 8pm, San Carlos at Ninth Avenue, Carmel-by-the-Sea. $30-$50.
Step back into the ‘70s at the Fernwood Tavern tonight. The Billy Martini show takes over for a night full of disco, rock and feather boas. It’s going to be groovy baby! 9pm, 47200 Highway One, Big Sur. Free event.

Celebrate St. Anthony’s Feast Day at the Mission San Antonio de Padua today during the annual Fiesta. This historic mission comes alive at 11am with a special Fiesta Mass followed by a procession to the Fiesta grounds for a grand event full of dancing, music, food, art and children’s activities.
