Climb Aboard the Lady Washington in Moss Landing

Ahoy mateys! The tall ship that made a guest appearance on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl has arrived in Moss Landing. Several lucky pirates in training can set sail on a 3-hour tour aboard her majesty or climb on deck to scope out the vessel during walk-on tours, November 7-15.

As a fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean, mostly Captain Jack Sparrow, I decided to see what the hype was about. I pulled up to the Moss Landing Harbor and immediately found the line of other curious fans; there were even children dressed up in full pirate attire.

After a stroll through Moss Landing’s docks, there she stood! Once she came into view everyone’s gaze was toward the sky trying to snap a shot of her massive masts.

Once on board guests are free to roam around and ask questions of the crew. There are no formal tours which is great for the little ones who just want to meander.

Unfortunately all sailing adventures are sold out but there is still plenty room for walk-on tours. The tall ship will be open for tours on Thursday and Friday from 4-5pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm and Monday from 4-5pm.  $3 donations are gladly accepted for walk-on tours. Call 800-200-5239 or visit http://historicalseaport.org/ for more information.
